FAQs

1. Wait a minute, there are events on 6 days, not 7, what gives?
Good eyes! We caught that too, but O-Week sounds much better than O-6-Days.
2. Some of these events have a limited capacity, how does that work?
We’d love to have the whole campus community involved in our Orientation celebrations, but technology has some limitations. As such, a few of our events will operate on a first come- first fed basis.
3. How does registration work for these events?
Some of the events have a registration process through this nifty little website called Run the World. All you have to do is click the link associated with the event, or click here register your email, and viola, you’re ready for the event!
4. Whoa, I thought this was virtual, the Tie-Dye Thursday event is on campus though?
This event took a little bit of magic, and a lot of safety precautions. Taking all of the recommendations from Public Health and Ontario Tech, we have created an outdoor, on-campus event, that’s so focused on your safety that it’ll make your head spin.
5. The Virtual Concert is happening with other universities, can I watch it with my friend from another school?
Absolutely you can! You’re all going through this crazy university experience together, cherish it with friends across campuses.
6. This whole thing seems great but will I REALLY have memories that will last a lifetime?
Yes. We have done a number of studies of the human brain. O-Week hijacks an area of the amygdala resulting in a dramatic increase of emotion-regulated memory storage. This whole thing is a joke but sounds kind of legit though, right?
